Piper Arrow Panel and Wiring

Has anyone converted steam gages in an Arrow to all glass? I’m working with an A&P and wondering what big unexpected issues people may have run into? Was it still worth doing? I received 5 quotes and all are way too expensive and take too long and everyone says it will take longer than any shop says. Hence looking at other options.

It's hard to say without knowing exactly what all they want to remove/install. Still, I would say it's definitely worth doing in almost any airplane. Off the top of my head, the big things to look out for are interfacing to an old autopilot and making sure there is clearance for all of the new avionics behind the panel in regards to the structure of the airplane and the moving parts (rigging, yoke, etc..). In the end, it's a challenging and time consuming project for most airplanes.
